Carson Valley Health received a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), joining 384 hospitals across the country with this distinction. In northern Nevada, only two hospitals have received this recognition, and just three in the state. 

Carson Valley Health has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval^® and the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Acute Heart Attack Ready Certification. 

Carson Valley Health (CVH) announced a monumental achievement for patient care and rural healthcare infrastructure: the facility has been officially designated as a Level IV Trauma Center. This designation makes Carson Valley Health the first and only critical access hospital in Nevada to earn this crucial certification. 

Carson Valley Health is proud to announce it has earned a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Outcomes. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.  

Carson Valley Health has received four American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines^® achievement awards for demonstrating commitment to following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for the treatment of heart disease and stroke, ultimately leading to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital.
