Carson Valley Health received a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), joining 384 hospitals across the country with this distinction. In northern Nevada, only two hospitals have received this recognition, and just three in the state.

The CMS Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating lets patients compare hospitals nationwide using real data on patient experience, safety, outcomes, and quality of care. CMS updates these ratings every year to help people make informed healthcare decisions.

“This recognition represents the dedication of our caregivers to continually providing the highest level of care for our patients and reflects the kind of care patients can expect from Carson Valley Health every day,” said Shannon Rogers, Carson Valley Health CEO. “We are proud to be recognized not just as a strong rural hospital, but as one of the top-performing hospitals in the region and the country.”

While the five-star rating is a national honor, it confirms what many patients already know: Carson Valley Health offers excellent healthcare from nurses, doctors, and staff deeply connected to the community and committed to continually improving care for their neighbors.
