Kama is a Clinical Social Worker–Intern at Carson Valley Health who supports adults working through anxiety, trauma, substance use concerns, and major life transitions. She believes therapy should be a place where people feel understood, respected, and empowered to move toward meaningful change at their own pace.
Her style is warm, collaborative, and practical, blending evidence-based approaches with a trauma-informed lens. Kama incorporates EMDR and recovery-oriented strategies to help clients process difficult experiences, build emotional regulation skills, and develop tools they can carry into everyday life. Whether in individual sessions or group settings, she focuses on helping people strengthen resilience, reconnect with their values, and create sustainable progress.
Kama’s work is deeply influenced by her connection to rural communities. Having lived and worked in remote regions—including Arctic and island settings—she understands both the challenges and the strong sense of connection that define smaller communities. She is passionate about ensuring access to high-quality behavioral health care close to home and has proudly called Carson Valley home since 2018.
Outside the office, Kama enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, practicing yoga, weightlifting, traveling, and mountaineering. Her experiences in nature continue to shape her belief in perseverance, balance, and personal growth.
