I earned my master’s in social work from the University of Nevada, Reno. My passion for supporting families and communities began during my undergraduate internship at the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, where I later worked for several years as an advocate, facilitating psychoeducational groups, and gained invaluable experience. While there, I had the opportunity to lead as a supervisor for the Differential Response program, covering a significant part of Northern Nevada. This involved working closely with families facing low-level child abuse allegations, aiming to provide supportive interventions and guidance. Furthering my education and practical experience, my master’s practicum took place at the Carson Professional Group. There, I focused on delivering psychoeducation to individuals, families, and groups on various topics. Additionally, I trained under a high conflict co-parenting mediator, enhancing my skills in resolving complex family dynamics.Â
Prior to my social work journey, I pursued interests in visual arts with a minor in painting from UNR and attended the Art Institute of Los Angeles for Graphic Design. These experiences have enriched my ability to connect creatively and empathetically with diverse populations, reinforcing my commitment to making a positive impact through social work.Â
I’ve been with my husband for 11 years. Together, we’re blessed with two lively toddlers who keep us on our toes—a bright, wild and funny daughter and an adventurous silly son. Our family is completed by our two Catahoula dogs, Ohkato and Rhiea, and our cat, Mingo, who recently surprised us with a litter of adorable kittens.Â
Originally from the San Fernando Valley, my mother relocated us to Gardnerville, where I’ve spent most of my adolescence and adult years. Though I’ve also lived in Los Angeles and Las Vegas at different times, I feel truly blessed to call Gardnerville home and to be raising my family here.Â
Currently, my main hobby is running around and being a mom, which brings me immense joy. Traditionally, I’ve always had a passion for painting, creativity, and the arts. I find solace in traveling, especially to the outdoors and the beach, which I consider places of worship. I love a good book, a beautiful film, and/or a rich cup of coffee. I cherish meaningful conversations that foster deep connections and vulnerability. Laughing and being silly with my loved ones is something I treasure dearly.Â
As a therapist, I deeply value the relationship that develops between myself and my clients. My journey in psychotherapy began as a clinical intern, focusing on adolescence—a period I find immensely rewarding for empowering young individuals to discover their voice and cultivate self-love.Â
My experience extends across a diverse clientele, where I’ve had the privilege of facilitating groups for women, mothers, and middle and high school students on a range of topics. I am particularly passionate about fostering connections among women and challenging societal stigmas to empower men in expressing emotional intelligence.Â
Since August 2023, I have been an intern with CVH. I’ve received training in Complex Trauma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, cultural competencies, Suicide Interventions and Trauma Informed Yoga, among other specialized areas. My dedication to mental health and social justice fuels my commitment to creating positive change within my community. I am particularly honored to walk alongside people in navigating their mental health journey.Â
