Working in healthcare was never a question for Leticia Montes, APRN. Looking back, she mentions how her family’s influence instilled in her the ideas of community, family, and impact. “I was drawn to building community among minority populations and being part of rural health care. That’s where my heart is,” said Leticia. “I learned from an early age you have an influence on the people around you – for good or bad – and I want to use my unique experience to help play a positive role in healthcare for our community.”
Leticia graduated from Douglas High School and pursued a career in nursing. She started her career as a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse and later worked in pre-op/PACU while continuing her education. She graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno.
This is Leticia’s first APRN role, and she was beaming with happiness talking about her experience here, “Everyone is extremely welcoming, and I feel at home. I’m also excited to work in a rural health clinic where we have outreach and services to help with healthcare barriers like the sliding scale fees.”
When Leticia has free time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.
