I grew up in a rural town in Malaysia. My father was the local doctor there and had a private practice. One of my fondest memories was accompanying him when he made house calls. He was active in ensuring our community could obtain medical care if they were unable to make it to the hospital or his clinic. I guess community work and helping others has been engrained in me at an early age because in 2015 I was hired by Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic, now known as Wellnest, to provide community mental health to the people of south-central Los Angeles. Prior to jumping at the opportunity to join CVH, I was the Clinical Director at Tahoe Youth and Family Services for a year. As much as I enjoyed supervising and taking care of my department, my heart was being a therapist.
I’m very passionate about my work. I’m in the business of connection. It is such a privilege to hear the stories that my clients entrust me with and to provide them with choices of paths towards achieving their goals.  It’s amazing to witness what compassion and kindness can do to initiate change within a person.
When I’m not at work, I’m having adventures in the mountains, mountain biking and snowboarding. Once upon a time I used to spin records as a DJ in clubs around Australia, Malaysia and the Bahamas. I was also a sound designer in Australia and Los Angeles. Â
